Google’s I/O Conference (2015 version) kicks off today, and there’s a lot that we can expect Google to announce during today’s conference. Just in case you are out of the loop or want to know what Google will be showcasing, here are some of the things that you can expect to find out more about.

Privacy Upgrade

Due to some Android user angst, Google will likely be offering Android users more options when it comes to privacy controls. If you are an Android user, you may find that the newly updated privacy options give you completely control over what apps can snag your details, and how you handle those apps.

Unlike the current privacy options when you download an app from Google Play, the new privacy controls will let you pick and choose which privacy options you do and don’t want. If Google announces these new privacy controls (as the company is expected to), the options should go into play within the week.

Fingerprint Authentication

Fingerprint authentication is old news to some people, but it’s something that Google has been working on for some time now. With the new fingerprint authentication setup, Android users will be able to log into Google Drive and Gmail by using a thumbprint as a form of authentication. This will be a lot like Apple’s Touch ID, but Google is expected to put its own spin on the fingerprint concept.

Some Auto Updates

There have been some rumours circulating that Google is trying to get Android into various makes and models of cars. No news about any Google partnerships with automakers has been released yet, but the company may be announcing some of those new partnerships today at the conference.

Google Wallet Updates

It’s no secret that Google wants Google Wallet to be the gold standard for Android payments, so we will likely be treated to some updates based on Android Pay. Google has been working on this payment system for quite a while now, but nothing has been released as far as what the company is actually doing. Some of those secrets might be explained today.

Image Information

Google is likely to introduce some more details about Google Photo. Google may offer more storage space in addition to some other photo details. This is one of the projects Google is working on that will likely be very popular once it is complete. Google will likely get rid of the need for Google Plus when it comes to storing photos, which is really what most people want to see. Ditching the Google Plus connection is the best way for Google to get a myriad of users to check out Google Photos.

Other Information

It’s a toss up when it comes to what Google might announce today, but the above are all great guesses. In the end, it really depends on what Google wants to push most - I’ll keep you updated once those official announcements have been made. Lots of things are coming from Google today, that much is for sure, but what those things will be is anyone’s guess.
