If you gave up on Microsoft's Internet Explorer years ago, you're not alone. But, the company has done some research, listened to the many complaints, and come up with a new version of Explorer called IE11. Internet Explorer 11 is up to 9% faster than its predecessor, and it seems like Microsoft has given this version of Explorer a good deal of thought too. But, is it too late?

A Look At IE11

Some of the things you can expect to see with IE11 include permanent tiles and tabs, apps that make a lot more sense when used with the browser, multi-window browsing options, and various other features that should have been part of Explorer to begin with. To say that most people are completely frustrated with Internet Explorer is an understatement.

The fact of the matter is that most people won't even consider using Internet Explorer, and that's something the Microsoft recognizes. In an effort to change the way that people think about Internet Explorer, Microsoft has started a whole campaign acknowledging the fact that people are tired of Explorer. So, the company is hoping to change that view with the new IE11.

Average User Roll Out

Microsoft revealed a version of IE11 this past July, but that version was reserved for developers. Now, the company is rolling out a version that's available for the general population. So, if you want to get your hands on the new IE11, you can do that now. But, do you want to?

It seems unlikely that Microsoft will turn around years of unhappiness with just the release of a newly updated version. After all, Explorer has been the browser that people have loved to hate for a long time now, and even the latest versions of Explorer have fell very short of great. Due to bugginess and problems with the browser, many people have stopped using IE and will not go back. But, time will tell.

Where to Get IE11

If you are one of the few that likes Internet Explorer and has faith in what Microsoft has done with the platform, you can check out the new IE11 on the Microsoft website right now. Before you switch, though, you may want to see what this newest version can do, and compare it to whatever you're using at the moment.

There's no doubt that Microsoft has taken the time to improve IE, but this may all be too late. Microsoft has to prove that Explorer can be successfully revamped without causing a lot of headaches and bug fixes. It doesn't seem likely that Explorer will be the browser it once was. Then again, every company deserves a second chance, right?

Will you use IE11 or are you completely tired of what Microsoft has been trying to do with Explorer? Or, are you of the mind that nobody really cares what happens with Internet Explorer. Let me know in the comments below what you think about the new IE11. Love it or hate it?
